St. Joseph Medical Center currently has its first positive case of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The patient is hospitalized in isolation where our clinical teams are following CDC protocols.
St. Joseph Medical Center is committed to protecting the safety of our hospital patients, healthcare providers and community and remains in close contact with the Jackson County Health Department, the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services, and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure proper precautions are followed.
Our hospital has identified the staff who encountered the patient while providing care and is following all guidelines regarding potential healthcare work exposure. At this time, our top priority remains protecting public health and ensuring the safety of our patients, visitors, staff, physicians, volunteers, and community.
