Healient Cardiac Treatments and Procedures

We help patients with robust treatment and procedure resources.

Treatments vary for heart disease and can include lifestyle changes, medication, stents, surgery, pacemakers, and ablation.

Patients who eat a healthy diet, control their weight, and get the right amount of exercise can reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease. We’re proud to offer industry leading cardiac treatments in Kansas City.

Treatments and Procedures

Here’s a look at the cardiac treatments and procedures we offer.

Coronary Stents

A small tube-shaped mesh device placed in the coronary arteries to help widen a clogged artery and supply adequate blood flow to the heart.

Transesophagial Echocardiogram (TEE)

An ultrasound of the heart via the esophagus that gives a clearer picture of the heart. This allows your doctor to see areas of the heart that are not visible with other tests.

Implantable Loop Recorders

Implantable loop recorders are heart-monitoring devices that record your heart rhythm for up to three years. These devices also allow for remote monitoring.

Heart Catheterization

Heart catheterization is used to diagnose and treat certain cardiovascular conditions. During this procedure, a thin catheter is inserted into an artery or vein (normally located in your groin, neck, or arm) and threaded through your blood vessels to your heart.

Coronary Atherectomy

A procedure to remove plaque from an artery making it wider, so blood can flow more freely to the heart muscles.

Electrical Cardioversion

A procedure that uses a small amount of electricity to treat atrial fibrillation/flutter.

Cardiac specialists at Healient work one-on-one with each patient to design an individualized treatment plan.

Our doctors and staff help patients identify and reduce their risk factors for heart disease, make necessary lifestyle and diet changes, and suggest multiple treatment options for each patient. We realize every person is different and we collaborate to make a plan that will help improve their quality of life.
