Dr. Patrick Santiago is a board-certified cardiologist specializing in diagnosing and treating diseases or conditions of the heart and blood vessels. He graduated from medical school at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and his residency and internship was through Yale Medical School at Saint Raphael Hospital. He completed his cardiology fellowship at the Mid America Heart Institute at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, MO.

 

He started his career as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Truman Medical Center where he held several leadership roles during his tenure. Over his 27 years of practice, he has worked at Saint Luke’s, Olathe Medical Center and Midwest Heart Associates providing cardiac care for numerous patients in both urban and rural communities. Dr. Santiago was also the Director of Cardiology at Lee’s Summit Medical Center. Dr. Santiago is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the American College of Physicians (FACP), and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (FASNC). He spent the past 8 years practicing at Maine Health in Belfast, Maine.

 

A fun fact about Dr. Santiago is that his first language was Spanish, then French, and when he started school, he learned English. Because of his background, he has always been very interested in culture, history, cuisine, art, travel and geography.
