Our vascular techs have over 20 years of experience giving very detailed exams of the arteries and veins. This means a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

Tests We Perform

Here’s a look at the tests we perform at the Healient peripheral vascular lab in Kansas City.  

Abdominal Ultrasound 

A test that uses sound waves to create images of structures and blood flow in the abdomen.

Aorta/Iliac Ultrasound 

A test that uses high frequency sound waves to evaluate the aorta, the major artery in the abdomen, and other arteries that deliver blood to major organs in the body.

Arterial Duplex 

An ultrasound test that uses high frequency sound waves and a series of blood pressure cuffs to show and measure blood flow in the arteries of the arms and legs.

Carotid Artery Duplex 

An ultrasound test that looks for blockages in your carotid arteries, located on both sides of your neck.

Mesenteric Duplex 

An ultrasound test used to check blood flow in the mesenteric arteries, which supply your intestines and other abdominal organs.

Renal Artery Duplex 

A test that uses high frequency sound waves to evaluate blood flow to the arteries of your kidneys.

Subclavian Artery Duplex 

An ultrasound test that evaluates blood flow to the subclavian arteries.

Thyroid Ultrasound

A test that uses sound waves to produce pictures of your thyroid gland in your neck.

Venous Duplex 

An ultrasound test that shows images of veins. It can show blood clots in leg veins and evaluate abnormal veins causing varicose veins. Can be used to rule out DVT.

Venous Duplex Insufficiency Study 

An ultrasound test used to check venous blood circulation in your legs.

Noninvasive Arterial Study

Ankle-brachial indices is a quick, painless study which compares blood pressure in the arms and legs to identify patients with significant blockage in their leg arteries. We typically perform these measurements pre and post exercise.
