Dr. Gerald Mancuso is an interventional cardiologist at Healient Physician Group and has served patients in the Kansas City area for more than 30 years. He specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases or conditions of the heart and blood vessels. He also has expertise at cardiac interventions performing minimally invasive catheter-based procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting.
Dr. Mancuso grew up in Columbus, Nebraska. He completed medical school at Creighton University and did his residency at the University of California, Irvine. His fellowship in cardiology was done at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Mid-American Heart Institute. He performed his Angioplasty fellowship at Iowa Heart. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology. In 1995, he began his career at Kansas City Heart Group, a prominent cardiology practice on the St. Joseph Medical Center campus. During his 18 years there, he served as the Director of Interventional Cardiology at the Carondelet Heart Institute. He now is Co-Director of the St. Joseph Heart Institute.
Dr. Mancuso is very passionate about the prevention and treatment of heart disease. He is known to go above and beyond to ensure all his patients receive a high level of care. He has won the Top Doctor award in Kansas City and is one of the founding fathers at Healient. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and five grandchildren, as well as watching baseball and live music.
